Desc: | The goal of this seminar to introduce students to the fundamentals of epistemology of the last 60 years, the problems it takes on, the methods it uses to address them, and leading theories. Among the topics we will discuss are the Gettier problem, the "normativity" of epistemic justification, whether epistemic justification is a wholly "internal" matter, and the nature of evidence. Among the theories we will discussed are virtue epistemology, knowledge-first epistemology, and evidentialism. |
